In verses 30-32 we see the second time in Mark when Jesus gives His disciples a prediction of His death and resurrection.

  • Look also at the first of these predictions in 8:31-32, and another yet to come in 10:32-34.

  • Look together at all three of them.

What is the context for these predictions,
how similar is each one, and
what would you say is Jesus’ apparent purpose or strategy in telling them?
