For the disciples of Jesus, His trial, crucifixion, and burial—and soon after-ward, His resurrection—were traumatic events that pounded their senses and emotions, and affected each of them in a different and powerful way. This is reflected well in the four different accounts of these events which the gospel writers give. For example, look up the following references to see together how each gospel records what happened from the time Jesus arrived at Golgotha (Calvary), to the moment He died. What unique details does each gospel bring out?—Matthew 27:33-50, Mark 15:22-37; Luke 23:33-46; and John 19:17-30.
