Ministries

Ministry of the Word —

The timeless truth of the Bible was initially communicated to both Jewish and Hellenistic Greek culture. Today, this truth is contextualized for our cultural understanding so that we can both receive and experience the truth in a relevant way. The Ministry of the Word is overseen and regularly given and by the Pastor.

Communion and Baptism

The celebration of the Lord’s Supper is summarized in the letter of 1st Corinthians,(11:23-26). We take the bread and the cup of Communion in remembrance of what the Lord Jesus has done for us.

In Baptism, a believer in Jesus proclaims publicly his or her identification with Jesus in both His death and in His resurrection. In Jesus, believers become a new creature (2 Cor 5:17).

Both of these sacraments are administered by the Pastor of the church.

Worship —

The worship team leads the congregation into worship during our Sunday services.
The audio equipment for the worship team and the recordings of the sermons are handled by the soundboard operator.

Youth Ministries —

Children’s Ministry coordinates the care and curriculum of your children during our regular worship services. Children’s Ministry currently is limited.

Counseling and Visitation, and Prayer —

If you are struggling in your relationships with God or other people, you may want to contact the pastor or a church leader for counseling.
Those who have become part of the family of Friendship Community Church will fall ill from time to time, and the church leaders will arrange to visit and offer support and encouragement.

All newcomers who fill out the contact information in the bulletin may request a call or visitation.  Each is prayed over and receives attention.

Friendship is prayerful in all aspects of service to the church. Prayer is at the heart of what we do at Friendship – our first line of offense and defense.  Our team takes every earnest prayer and praise to heart, lifting them up before our Savior, Intercessor, and Ever Present Help in Time of Need, and laying the at His feet. Prayer  is always available after service, and by request in person or online.

P.U.S.H. (Pray Until Something Happens), a monthly time of congregational intercession is the last Wednesday of every month.

Philippians 4:6; James 5:13-16

World Missions —

The gospel message is universal as well as local. Friendship remains connected with the effort to expand God’s Kingdom via CRC World Missions, and efforts that include food giving and other activities with the San Bernardino City Mission, support of the local Fontana Gideon’s, CRC missionaries in Mexico, and the Home of New Beginnings in Thailand.

Hospitality Ministry —

Includes After-Service refreshments. Refreshments are also available for a period of time after the worship service as people hang around and get caught up with each other. This Hospitality Service provided is by a member volunteers.

It also includes a Church-Wide State of the Church annual service as well as fellowships like our Pot-Blessing Fellowship, the last Sunday of the month, where we gather as church family and break bread together.
