Notes …

2nd Saturday’s was a wonderful Sister Saints’ Time Out as we watched the movie “Mom’s Night Out” our Sumptuous (lotsa food) Sat’inee!

Us Sister Saints:
We are there for each other
We struggle; but we rise – We bounce back
We forgive.
We encourage.
We find our strength in how He made us – not in Mary, not in Martha,
not in how we see ourselves not looking through His eyes.
We put it together and we make it work!

The most meaningful part of the entire movie for each of us was when Bones told Allyson about his mom and what he believes to be true about being a mom:

“Y’all spend so much time beatin’ yourselves up; must be exhausting.” ~Bones
No wonder stress paralysis is a thing!

Ouch! We ARE our worse critic. That guilt can be cruel and lead us down paths we don’t need to be on. Ones that lead to a break down in the closet. How about instead we take a Sister Saints Time Out?! We deserve it. YOU deserve it. And it’s perfectly allowed.

The Pinterest Eagle is real; check her out!

From the movie:

  1. My life needs to change for me to be happy. FALSE. We have the ability to choose joy. my hashtag, my catchphrase, all year. ‪#‎ChooseJoy‬. It’s that simple. In any circumstance we have the ability to choose to be happy and to turn that situation around. Our life does not need to change. We simply need to change our perspective. Choose to be happy.

  2. I am a failure. FALSE. take a look around at the life built. The amazing household we have created. The work we have built. I have a purpose and, though there are times when I may fail, I will succeed. I am determined, passionate, and driven. I am NOT a failure.

  3. I am a mess but a beautiful mess. I am His masterpiece and that’s enough. I am me. And, well, that is enough. “I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Psalm 139:14 based on http://7onashoestring.com/2014/05/moms-night-out.html

Norma’s song: ‘Humble yourself in the sight of the Lord’ (1 Peter 5:6)

Had a wonderful time with you ladies! See you next month for a ‘taste of thanksgiving’!

Oh and the recipe for the breakfast pizza bake  [just add some eggs and italian sausage]. Also had assorted muffins and sweet breads, orange juice and fresh fruit, strawberry swirl cheesecake and of course chips and popcorn for the movie!
