Here's a short description of the various ministries or groups at Friendship, and
the main contact responsible for the position or ministry. This page is mostly intended to let you know
who to talk to concerning a particular ministry if you would like to get involved. Please refer to
the contact list in the church bulletin, or check our contact page to
communicate with the relevant party involved. For a listing of activities and fellowship groups,
please refer to our ministries home page.
Benevolence
The Benevolence Offering is a wash account collected on the first Sunday of each
month. The fund is used to alleviate the hardship of Friendship's members. Just as a family will
take care of its members, Friendship does the same thing with the Benevolence Fund. Administered
by the Leadership.
Children's Ministries
Children's Ministries coordinates the care and curriculum of your children during our regular worship services. Children's Ministries include both Children's Sunday School and Nursery care.
Coffee & Refreshments
Coffee is provided for those who need a little extra kick-start in the morning. Coffee and refreshments are also available for that period of time after the worship service when people hang around and get caught up with each other. Service provided is shared by a rotation of member volunteers.
Communion and Baptism
The celebration of the Lord's Supper is summarized in the letter of 1st
Corinthians, chapter 11 (1 Cor 11:23-26). We take the bread and the cup of Communion in
remembrance of what the Lord Jesus has done for us.
In Baptism, a believer in Jesus proclaims publicly his or her identification with Jesus in both
His death and in His resurrection. In Jesus, believers become a new creature (2 Cor 5:17).
Both of these rites are administered by the elders of the church.
Counseling and Visitation
If you are struggling in your relationships with God or other people, you may
want to contact the pastor or a church leader for counseling.
Those who have become part of the family of Friendship Community Church will fall ill from time
to time, and the church leaders will arrange to visit and offer support and encouragement.
All newcomers who fill out the contact information in the bulletin will receive a call, and will be offered a visitation. During these visits, you can ask any
questions you may have about God, the church, or important life issues, and we will try to assist you
in every way.
Ministry of the Word
The timeless truth of the Bible was initially communicated to both Jewish and
Hellenistic Greek culture. Today, this truth is contextualized for our cultural understanding so that
we can both receive and experience the truth in a relevant way. The Ministry of the Word is overseen and regularly
provided and by our shepherds.
Property Management
The sanctuary, office, and nursery all require janitorial care, as well as
ongoing building maintenance. The installed landscaping is maintained, as well. Note that Property
Management only maintains existing landscaping, but is not responsible for property improvements.
