“And he called to him the crowd with his disciples and said to them, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it. For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world and forfeit his life? For what can a man give in return for his life? For whoever is ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him will the Son of Man also be ashamed when he comes in the glory of his Father with the holy angels” – There are two things a believer must know. The first is that you can’t buy your way into heaven, no matter how rich you are. The second is that the road less traveled, the one that has suffering, the one with the cross, is the one the true believer must take. Unfortunately, many may find the right road, but few are willing to take it because they’re unwilling to endure for the sake of the cross and think that they can simply buy their way out of suffering. That is not how it works.  Friend, when you come to that fork in the road, remember money can’t buy salvation and enduring suffering for His sake leads to eternal life in the end!
