“So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart. Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies; you know that they breed quarrels. And the Lord’s servant must not strive, but be gentle towards all, apt to teach, forbearing, in meekness correcting them that oppose themselves; if peradventure God may give them repentance unto the knowledge of the truth” – Oftentimes in our zeal to defend the faith, we may win the battle of judgmentalism and condemnation, but lose the war for the soul. Why? Simply because too often, we forget that the Lord Himself was a man of humility and meekness. Indeed, it was His gentleness and lovingkindness that drew us to him and that is how we are to be those who need to hear the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
